folx here in ky got more than annual allotment of snow ,, seems 2 ft started comin down after dark Wednesday nite in the Elizabethtown area , .it was just too much too quick and in the dark too ... poor little cars could not keep pushin the snow ,,, and rather than get off the interstate and let the semis keep trukin , a few of them choked off the interstate ,,. I-65 was backed up to Louisville some 40 miles ..,lots of good folx made a good difference ,.the wife of the rainbow coalition confuser was in that mess too , and feared for her life she told the news folx ..

Ya saw that on the news tonight. Big problem is few people know how to deal with snow and ice and those that do not know how should find a motel or hotel for the night

rich you are rite ,but this situation turned peculiar real fast , in defense of the good ky folx,,there were a steady stream of basketball fans comin south back from Louisville ,, where the weather was just sleety snow mixt , as they came south they ran into very very heavy snow , probably a foot at midnite , these cars hoped to bore thru and get home ,but got stuck ,,choking down the truck lanes ,, the, snowplows , police ,wrecker service were overhelmed by the extreme falling snow that was over 2 foot deep by daylight,////, I recall .2 days before Christmas in 2004 , I left my snow foundered caddy in palmyra ind on the side of road ,, I had gone to Campbellsburg ind that am to get parts before the storm came thru ,, going there,,. all went well , but it was already turning white by the time I got to cambellsburg ,, then ,snow storm really ramped up for the return home , complete with thunder and litning, seen thunder snow before lol , but . never saw so much snow fall so guick in my life ,, in 20 miles it went from 2 inches to 2 foot, I think a similar sort a storm came thru e-town Wednesday nite ..

Been right there in that hill/cut. It is not about how fast the conditions changed , the thing is how long it took the authorities to realize there was a problem and respond. Remarkable that no one was injured . Sometimes it just takes time for things to get organized but response was a little slow. Still some minor blockages this morning but nothing like that. ALL south bound UPS overnight packages were affected.

Had a big problem not long ago here in Missouri on I44 where a big rig and a Gray Hound bus got hit and from there it went form bad to super bad. Took a couple days to clear out all the cars and truck in the ditch. Many big rigs laying on there sides etc.
