Kind of an odd question, but what the heck. Working on a new home right now and need to do some landscaping this summer. Tossing around the idea of doing bed in the front/side yard that possibly has a F-12 or F-14 in it with a section of fence right behind it and a flag pole. Now I know a guy that has a small salvage yard for these tractors and said scrap price he would sell me one....cracked block, bad trans, etc.... so please don't attack me on wasting a tractor since it is either this or the scrap yard. Looking for ideas/thoughts about this or better yet, if you have ANY pictures of anything like this I would greatly appreciate seeing them. Thank you.

Here's what you need to find!

I have been trying to talk my mom into filling this one up with flowers in the front yard! Shes not sold on it quite yet! :)

I found a dearborn 2 bottom plow in mint condition, $300. New everything and a nice coat of lipstick. It's in the center of a raised flower bed. I smile every time I see it, especially when the flowers are in bloom. Never plan to use, hate to remove the nice paint job. The old girl has found a retirement home.

Here is one that I drove by once. I think if done right they look great, if done wrong then it just looks like junk setting around.

To each their own, you only have to make yourself happy.

There is an M with a set of cultivators setting along Il-336 north of Quincy, he plants 4 rows of corn around it.(some years)

An old walking plow nicely incorporated in to the landscape near a flagpole or something maybe, but anything else is kind of Red Neck City isn't it?

Do it yourself as a gift to your Ma, Bryce. Hook it behind one of those Johnny parters you got and plant the whole lot.

There must be times when your wife wishes she was still in Rock Castle County surrounded by hillbillies instead of by rednecks. lol

Depends on surrounds. Tractor and maybe small implement of equal rust(drill, rake, mower). A simple gravel pad, some flowers works almost any where. If planning for place with flower "overload" blend it in with filled boxes mounted on tractor. For a wooded lot just the tractor sitting there (closer to trees) works good enough.

All this is just random advice what you do is up to you. You are the one that has to look at it every day.

Here's some of mine. I live on a vintage 1886 farm and in 2005 I decided to start collecting steel-wheeled farm equipment. The steel stuff stays out, but I keep the wooden stuff in the barn. I re-arrange it every once in a while.

We have a rusty Farmall Regular - but did not put it "on a bed", because it is actually a working tractor. We just let an oval of grass grow long around it... that way if we decide to relocate its parking spot it’s no big deal… just start mowing the old spot (no timbers, stones or concrete to remove).

WE THINK THE OL’ GIRL LOOKS GOOD IN ALL SEASONS!

We have a garden around our shop with some rusty wheels and a huge, old rusty pot... with plants that grow back each year - such as day lilies, Asian lilies and hostas. We add a few annuals like geraniums and petunias or marigolds each year for an additional splash of color.

So here are some ideas of things you can plant around your tractor. We think plants look especially nice combined with rust.

Nice rust! All nice photos... but really love the shot of the grain drill with the barn and vines for a backdrop.

That vine is Virginia Creeper. I have to pull it down a couple of times in the summer or it would cover the side of the barn completely.

Up here, we get what wild grapes... they will take-over an area too, if allowed to grow undisturbed.
