Pole Shed Prices

I built a Walters 60 x 120 with 12 foot side walls in 2010. I had them calculate a replacement cost for insurance purposes with today's pricing. It cost $48,000 in 2010 and would cost $66,000 to replace it today. Up 35% in 5 years.

Plan on building another Walters 42 x 64 with 12 foot side walls in May....$34,000.

The shed you plan in May is roughly double in cost square footage wise than the one you built in 2010. Even accounting for the fact that smaller sheds always cost somewhat more than larger sheds per square foot that seems extreme, unless there are many added features as compared to the last shed.

The May shed has more money in windows, raised chord rafters, overhead doors and openers. The larger shed had no windows and sliding doors. Walters is not the lowest cost builder, but I have been impressed with their quality over other builders. Thicker metal, heavier rafters and higher snow loads.

I went with Hansen Pole buildings (dot com). Got the eave lights and clear ridge vent. Really liked it and they beat the pants off any of my local suppliers.
