Son and I would like to find a 40 to 54 chev pick-up half ton or larger. We are thinking a father son road trip might be in order. Hoping to find western or southern truck relatively free of rust. At least major rust! Hey guys whats out there????????? Thanks Bill Wilson E mail open

I have a '49 chevy 3800 (1 ton) with 9' step side bed. As rust free as you will find, very very little. Cab, doors, bed very straight. Fenders, hood, running boards dented but repairable. Has a 216 engine that ran several years ago. I've always kept it inside, but it sat in a field in Nebraska for 30 years. I've been told a rust free cab is worth 15-2000. I'd like 2000 for the truck. Needs completely restored, but is in much much better shape than most.

friend has a 1940 chevrolet pickup, just pulled it out of a barn before snow this fall. solid truck most everything is there, engine turns over.

let us know what he has and give him my phone number 812 699 0011 we may buy one for him and one for me where is the truck (what state) thanks bill

good luck. I love my 47 chevy. My advice is to buy the best one you can afford. The further you are out of the hole when you start the less you will get discouraged and the more enjoyable it will be. Almost anything is available parts wise. I guess it's a lot like these old tractors

This is a '57 that was in a nearby craigslist. They may be a little high but it looks straight and rust free.

Bill, I have fond memories of our old 49 international. The air conditioning consisted of a crank out front window, which removed all the dirt on the floor. Most of which you got in the face.

So, If you find an old ¼ ton 49 international think of me. One time we had hay in the back of the truck. I was driving it in the feed lot. Brother was putting the hay in feed trough. The bull was in a hurry to eat so he climbed in the back of the truck. Brother came over the cab. I felt the truck go down on the rear axle. We couldn't do anything until the bull was full. So Bill, when someone tells you, you are full of bull, they're saying you are full of hay.

I have a 49 3600 (3/4 ton) not necessarily for sale. I've been doing restoration work slowly as dollars allow. Getting to where I might consider selling for the right price which right now I don't know what that would be.

Has 235 engine, completely restored bed floor, front fenders, grill, heavy duty front bumper, 6 ply front tires, 8 ply rear tires.

Needs driver's door repaired or replaced and seat repaired. I have lots of new parts that are still to be installed - radiator, complete wiring harness, set of rubber seals for doors and windows, etc.

I don't drive it, but is runs and could be driven. Stored inside for the last 20 years.
