Well we are supposed to get 40 degrees here Friday and into the 50s next week but single digits tonight. Right now we have 1-2 inches of snow with sleet and freezing rain falling on top of it. The roads are really slick.

I will be glad when this winter/spring is over!!!

North-east Iowa is where all this fun is at.

Feeding this morning was a real treat. I had to put chains on the feeder wagon as it was sliding away from the feed bunk. Had to put the chains back on skid loader to even load the feed wagon.

I got up early so many of the chores where done before the crap started.

I was going to get the same, freezing rain, then snow. The ice went north, so I'm getting just a drizzle. Prediction 40's by weekend. Hope it warms up slowly or things will get ugly with all the melting snow.

My sis who lives in the quad cities texted me yesterday wondering if my son was going to make a Maquoketa run today. She heard the forecast for today and that sparked her concern. Here in Buena Vista county we aren't in any weather watch but Palo alto county, where he does happen to be driving today is in a warning. Hopefully this will be old man winter's last hurrah.

Old saying in winter it's cold around full moon then warms up .It's been that way all winter and the moon turns on the 5th.

I have been tracking the weather and the Old Farmer's Almanac.
Amazing how accurate it is and predictions are really accurate within a couple of days give or take.

Their forecast for us is lousy for all but the last 2 days of March. Bummer.

Trade ya.....Above freezing in the middle of Kentucky now, but it's about to start raining. All forecast's call for 2" to 3" of rain. Then temps drop from the 40's to well below freezing tonight and into the single digits by Friday morning. Tonight, the heavy rain turns off to snow. We're supposed to get as much as 12" of that fun stuff before those single digit temps turn the whole mess into a flippin' glacier.

We haven't even melted away the 14" we had a week and a half ago.

And being somewhat of a "southern state", we have limited resources for snow removal, and most of these people around here go into full blown panic with flurries in the forecast. Grocery stores will look like they've been hit by looters by days end.

That it is a beautiful day!!!! Had a nice chat with the school bus driver who had just put her in the ditch. I told him I was wondering why they atleast didn't postpone school. No one was hurt except for the driver's pride and I told him he didn't do anything wrong, bad spot in the road that was ice covered, nothing he could do.

And to think when it leaves you, it headed towards NY state then to New England. I live in lake effect area of NY (like a few others on here) so we get that and what you send us :(

I was reading some weather predictions this morning on a farm website. They were predicting cold weather until the first week of May. Sure hope it warms up by the end of march when the calves start coming!

As you probably already read, I was mucking about the woods opening up sugarbush roads yesterday. I an tell you one thing. All those guys living along the Black River better pray that we have a slow thaw or they will be all fishing their cows outta the river at the hydro plant in Watertown this year.(smile)

We are supposed to start getting what you are getting now, tomorrow. Yippee-skippee!

I feel for you! Our cold miserable weather finally broke today here in central GA and it is sunny and 70 degrees for the first time in a long time.Short sleeves and sweating.

No matter the weather be it rain, freezing rain, snow, wind one thing is for sure. Everyone should use risk management. If you have $10,000 put it towards the house. Keep making truck payments and do not worry.
