Randy, Bearings are a item which you can purchase lots of different quality bearings.

Take your good bearings to a Bearing sales place. Like Illinois Bearing. ( there are lots of them.)

Ask them to sell you the high quality bearings. Be ready, the price tag will have sharp teeth.

Probably sold over 600 of the L 10 series and front wheel bearings are not usually an issue for less that 1000 hrs. Is the unit 4 wheel drive. Are you making LONG carries with the loader bucket filled. Like driving 300 or 400 hundred yards with a full bucket. That might shorten the lives but other than that can not think of anything. I would go back with KUBOTA OEM bearings but that is strictly up to you. One other thing install the bearings then after 20 hrs might retighten them.

Are these tapered roller bearings or flat sealed type? Tapered brgs cannot have any preload=they need .003 of clearance/freeplay.Or is dirt/water the cause? That would mean a seal issue. Are they lubed properly?Mark

This is a chart of common failures. Might see something familiar.

Have the races spun on the spindle tube or inside the hub from previous failures? Could be misalignment issues.

Was the seal surface damaged, letting water in, grease out? Thinking there is another seal where the drive spline goes through the tube, trying to picture it...

Are the lock nuts and hardware in good condition, keeping the nuts from backing off or tightening up?

#1 - good quality bearing - just because the size crosses to the ball bearings Kubota used doesn't mean its the same quality
#2 - oil seal - they had a few seal updates, if it loses its oil you will lose the bearings. I lost a seal on one side in winter, with clear Kubota UDT in the axle you don't see it in snow. Bearings lasted about 10-20 miles of road travel without the oil.
#3 - clean out the bits, they can get into the axle tube sometime. One piece floating around will start taking chips out of bearings. We changed the fluid a few times after to get all the flecks of metal out.

Re carrying and driving, we do it all the time, I delivered 2 4x5 round bales a week almost a mile down the road plus a mile or two each time we feed. Also ran several years with a big snow plow hanging out of the front of the bucket all winter driving about 5-10 miles per storm on the road to get to all my driveways.
