I was thinking of how many thing I was happy to get and happier when I got rid of them. My top two are:
Boat and swimming pool.

I know some people who would say: motorhome and time share.

What are your top 2?

I Would have to agree, some tenants we had in a house trailer we had on the farm,,,they had to move, because we put wheels on the trailer and towed it away,,,,,

John Deere elevator is the only thing I can think of, but have a guy who owns hunting property next to our farm that I would not miss one second if he sold it and left.

1st wife is a good one which I didn't think about till reading replies. I had a 77 and a 2004 Chevy trucks. So tickled they are gone. The 77 was a rust bucket. The seats came a apart within 6 months of new. And I put 7 fuel pumps in it. The 2004. Stranded me five times in 6 months. After I got it started the 6th time, I went straight to the Ford dealer and traded. Both were new when I bought them.

Years ago, got rid of a 92 olds with a 3.4 engine. (old style with the alternator on the bottom) DOHC Every GM service was 1000 bucks. This should count for 2 items!

'68 Mercedes 200 Diesel, that I bought in about '97. Most incompetent highway car I ever had- Don't let it die at the exit after going flat-out (60 MPH) on the freeway- if you do, you'll wait 15 minutes until the engine cools off enough for the starter to turn it over. And make sure the lumber under the seat doesn't shift and let the seat fall through the floorboard. Don't recall what possessed me to but that thing.

1980 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon. That car cured me of ever owning any GM product. I also got rid of all my GM stock after that experience. Guess I was lucky I got out before O'Bamma stole GM and gave it to the unions. That would be my two.

JD 440 (that I'd clearly been over-working), and my mother's house (that my siblings stuck me with so they could get cash instead). Closed that sale yesterday!!! No more 2+ hr commutes each way.

I've never had one, but aren't ex-wives kind of expensive?

chevy blazer had on mail route only second chevy product owned and they were both money pits.never again any of that make for mailroute. rental farm house went down last year thank heavans

John Deere 105 combine. I made two mistakes with that combine. The first when I bought it and the second was when it got on fire, I put the fire out.

Farming in general. I've always said two of the happiest days of my life were the day I started farming and the day I quit.

An early 90's Dodge mini-van. It had a 70,000 mile warranty and the transmission went out at 77,000. We were 3 hrs from home and with two little kids.

I remember reading one time about a tractor called "The Happy Farmer" The farmer was happy twice, when he bought it and when he got rid of it.

I have heard that and I do not believe any of that. Neighbor had one he bought new in 1919 and used for years, pulled 3 bottoms. Later he bought a 1917 for parts. Next tractor was a John Deere 1941 B and in plowing time he would start the Happy down the furrow, jump on the B with disk, beat the Happy to end of field, Turn the Happy around , get back on the B and beat the happy to end of field and repeat. Last couple of years he did not have Happy running he took a bottom off that 3 bottom and pulled it with the B. Only a couple of years till he got a 47 A Deere with 3 bottom plow that he used for rest of his life. Sadley he passed away in 59 at age 69 from heart attac, was pitching manure by hand and when I found him he was laying flat on his back with the fork hanle laying accross his chest. Something a 13 year old boy does not forget. There is a Happy about 15 mile from me that owners family bought new and just 2 year ago restored to like new condition. The Happy the neighbor had he used for at least 22 years so if they were that bad he would not have been using it that long.

Remember you are saying it was 29 years old when you bought it. Now how many cars are even still on the road at 29 years old, very few.

1972 Pinto - do I need to say more?

1990 Chrysler New Yorker - by far the worst car I ever owned, even worse than the Pinto!

I had Massey 450 closed throat baler that the hay had to be perfect or it would clog up,wrap up,or half the roll would be on wrong side of the belts,or otherwise give me a fit.I bent the tail gate frame on it because I ran over the belts trying to eject a misformed bale. After 2 yrs my brother talked me into fixing it. After I put it back together and tried it out, I took the first $ offer, without any 'negotiating' !
My 2nd thing will be my 955 Cat tracloader when I sell it:bought to do a few jobs and learn on, but was unable to sell when I was done with it do to the economy.Mark

Brand new 74 Ford F250, must have been built on Friday night working overtime using leftover parts, picked it up after dark, brought it home, next morning it was leaking oil and antifreeze and I could not get the hood open, and that was only the start. Kept it only a year till the warranty went off, Told old Henry I would never own another Ford product in my life, and have kept that promise to this day, what a piece of junk.

Just after we were married my 340 demon got totaled in a freak snow storm accident. The only thing I could afford at the time to replace it was a beat up old Ford Tourino. (spelling?) The poor thing was worn out when I bought it. I was happy that I could at least afford some kind of transportation, and happier than a plastered clam to get rid of the thing.

To keep it farm related, the second was an Oliver 830 forage harvester. The thing had it's good points, but basically, it was a hodge-podge of Oliver parts and outdated Foxx technology.

You just reminded me-I sold my'70 340 Duster to get my first wife an automatic Maverick (POS) she could drive, because I wanted a Jeep. I regret selling that Duster more than anything. Mark
