I was told that U S Sugar co. down there had a great many M R S tractors in the 60s-70s to pull wagons etc. Anyone down there ever see one of these tractors?????

I feel quite sure what you were told is true.I live in central Ga and a buddy of mine had two of the MRS tractors pulling produce trailers through the field several years ago.I was told they came from south FL sugar cane fields. His were both identical with 4 wheel steering,6-71 Detroit and Allison automatics.Slow, loud, cumbersome, and took two football fields to turn around even with 4 wheel steering. They have since been scrapped. They had 23.1x26 tires and I still have two of the rims that I bought from the scrapyard for tires for my combines.

Haley good to hear from you. My tractor is the MRS I-80 with a 4-71 Detroit and a 5 speed manual tranny with a divorced transfer case with a high- low range. My tires are the 18.00 X 26 Was told the 23.1 X 26 are the same size---NOT SURE.
Are your rims for sale if they would fit my machine--we are heading south this spring.

I was thru there about 10yrs ago and huge lot of dirty John Deeres parked there and then went by Case I-H and there sat whole bunch of new ones plain to see someone was changing colors.

Back in the early 80's I worked for a friend of mine that was in the used equipment business. He bought a lot of stuff off of US sugar including some of the old MRS tractors. I would make a trip down there once a week and bring back whatever would fit on an old 35 ton Rodgers lowboy pull by a equally as old Brockway semi. I could get two of the MRS tractors at a time but boy was that a load. If one of them would run I would chain it to would that did and drag it up on the trailer behind the good one. He sold a few of them and parted out the rest. I can't remember if they had 4-71 or 6-71 in them. He also bought a bunch of the little D2 cats one time and I put 6 of them on the trailer at on time with a big forklift they let me use. The were just pull tractors with no hydraulics or blades. The one thing he bought that I hated hauling was the cane harvesters that he bought they were built by Massey Ferguson and were real tall and I had to cut the leaf blower stack off with a torch to get them on the trailer. They had 6 cylinder Perkins turbocharged diesels in them and were all hydraulic. He used to take pictures of every load I brought back and I'll have to see if he still has them.

Floyd that was a great report. I have the industrial model with front dozer blade. I am trying to find out what the Rockwell T 223 C 1 Transfer case that I have was common to what heavy duty trucks from the late 50s to 60s--maybe earlier The case is a two speed hi low with a front shaft going to the front for the 4x4--maybe military.........

Don't know about tractor availability there, but had a BIL that grew sections of cabbages. Shipped them by the train load to NYC and other places.
