reading about computer chimps and fobs made me want to report the latest aggravation with the modern world ... our 2000 Lincoln was panic ing this am ,, horn blowin , lites flashin , for no reason , ,, doors were unlocked ,, no one or nuthin touched the car ,, opened the door and inserted key and all that racket stopped ,,turned the ignition key ,, and the motor cranked but would not fire ,,. turned the key over and tried it after about 5 attempts the Lincoln was runnin ,, question ,, is the battery weak in the key chain gizmo?,,
 
Aw just wait, these are the good ol days. Wait til the car makes you verify your identity, that you and the car are actually sitting in the same hemisphere, that it wants your last 4 digits, that you have to enter in your eye color and weight to corrsepond to your driver's license, that you are sitting vertically upright and fully attentive, with not too much choloesterol ... ain't gonna be no end to it.

hose are the symptoms most Fords have when someone tries to start them with a key that fits the ignition tumbler but car is not programmed to read the code in the key chip. Trying it 5 or 6 times with a properly programmed key clears it.
