Anti-freeze and rim leaks....

I heard somewhere to pour some antifreeze in a tubeless tire to seal small leaks since it causes the rubber to swell. Had a tubeless tire on my disc that kept going down, so I broke the bead on one side and dumped about a half gallon of old antifreeze in it a couple of days ago. Sloshed it around after I aired it up, so far, so good....

I doubt antifreeze causes the rubber to swell. If that were so, it would affect radiator hoses in a similar fashion. It's probably the fact that liquid has a higher viscosity than air and that helps seal the tire. There's a product called slime to do the same thing. you can also use oil and grease to seal tire beads.

Antifreeze was free...slime is expensive! I figure dirty antifreeze is even better :D

I break the bead, clean with wire brush on drill,
coat with green slime, cover tire with something or
you will find out what happens when the slime hits
the rim.

Your better off using old oil since it soften up the rubber so in turn it will seal better

Oil would be a real mess if it didn't work...you can just wash off antifreeze....

I learned this when I worked at a tire place. The guy who owns this place has been selling tires for decades. Oil softens rubber because rubber is made from oil antifreeze will do little or nothing to a tire. The guy owns a place that has molds to make tires for cars/trucks form way back in the 20s etc. Kellies tire .com if I remember right

Break the tire down an spray the bead area with Flex-seal or one of its competitors products. I just got 6 cans on sale at Menards for $3 a can.

The anti freeze is probably washing all the dust and dirt from the tire and that's what plugging the rim leak. Slime is supposed to be a type pf anti-freeze with ground paper mixed in.

Whatever works I say!
