How much approximately would a 1944 farmall m in average shape sheet metal is good rear rims really rusty tires good and has after market live hydraulics and power steering and a after market pto extension on was used for pulling a lot in its day as the swinging draw bar hole is egg shaped. By the way it starts really good transmission seems sound and engine seems good what would something approximately like this go for at a auction? Its in Ohio if this helps just want some opinions I was thinking around 1000 what do you all think?

Take it to Mt. Gilead (morrow county) on Feb 28th and put it in the consignment sale, you will find out what it is worth. Actually take it a couple days before the 28th, I have done well selling things there.

This isn't my tractor its going to be in auction march 21 and I'm
interested doubt I'll have enough for it I've been helping the guy
thats having this auction we've been pulling a trailer to the
brush pile with it thanks everyone! I do hope to make it to that
sale though in mt. Gilead I'm about 20 minutes away from there

I bought a 47 M with an F-11 loader on it at an auction last fall for $600, hadn't been run in several years, took about an hour to get it going, home made power steering and pto hyd pump, good tires.

Sounds like you have a bit of an advantage in getting to run the tractor some before it is sold so you can determine if its a good one or not much better than someone who shows up on typical sale day. Unusual sounds, leaks, oil consumption, etc.

The power steering is easily worth $400 to $600 alone plus the live pump adds more value. No way would I sell that tractor for $1k if I owned it assuming good runner. I would say you got it darned cheap if you end up buying it for $1k. Heck 1300 to 1400 is still a cheap buy if its a good one.

Would not worry too much about the oblong hole in the drawbar either. Early M's had that thinner metal drawbar on them that was prone to bending and fast wearing due to farmers using undersize pins and the metal was not really hardened in those era of drawbars. Most of those early era drawbars are welded up with additional metal for re-inforcment or replaced with a "Super" series drawbar which is much thicker and hardened some.

Is the extension on the PTO an overrun clutch? If so that is $45 to $80 or so right there.

It all depends on who is there, and how bad they want it. $800 to $1,000 should buy it.

No its on the PTO engagement lever I guess I do get a little
advantage lol there's actually 2 more M's and 4 H's one has a
loader on it I an give you a link to the auction list if you like.
