I am a member of the Kalamazoo Valley Antique Tractor and Engine Club. It would seem that our club website host has disappeared without notice and my wife and I have been charged with getting a new website up and running with some help from the club president's wife. My question to you folks here on the inter-webz is what would you like to see on a club's website? Show info? Member info? other links? I think a few of you on here might belong to the club and could possibly provide some valuable input. We have a few ideas but we are not just buildign the website for us, we are building it for everyone. Any input from anyone would be much apreciated.

I like to see Upcoming events, including dates and time of event. Location, including city, county and state.
A map to Your show grounds from nearest town or city.
History of the club and founding Members.
And of course Pictures, lot's of pictures!
Good Luck with Your project. I don't know what is involved in "Building" a website, but I bet it's not easy.

Just remember, whatever you build will need to be MAINTAINED, which will take more time than you think.

So, I would suggest starting out simple and build over time. Overall, remember the basics. Who, What, Where, and When.

Keep it clear and simple.


 
Well we now have a website up and running. Barb, a club member and the club presidents wife, was able to upload the old site onto the new server. We will do some updating as we learn how to work the software. Thanks for all the input! We now have some great ideas. As for keeping it updated, that should not be a problem once we learn the ins and outs of website maintenance. It seems that our site is not showing up when searched for in a search engine. We will have to work on that. The web address is kalvalleyclub.org
