Am I Missing Something?

I've been away from TV for six or eight years and notice there
is no longer a channel guide of program listings. Local
newspaper no help. I've been told that there is a cable channel
that plays tapes of my grandsons b-ball games, but there is
no way to find out when! Is this just a local problem with our
inferior newspaper & cable TV company or ??? (southwest PA).

Our cable co. has a website with a channel guide, and some other programming info.

Have you checked if yours has a site?

WM, The local community TV station should have their own listing; at least that is how it is here in Moon Twp

In Indianapolis the TV listings are only in the Sunday newspaper---and only then if you pay extra for them.

I find myself using TitanTV.com

The site is a bit confusing (for a geezer like me),but you can setup what they call "channel lineup's" for over the air, cable, or ????

It's free, but you have to play with it to get what you want.

same here. Our provider used to have a guide that would scroll continuously. Guess they hated to suck up a channel with it. I used to also be able to hit "Info" on the remote and get a description of what was on the channel. Not anymore. I've found myself surfing to something that looks like it might be worth watching but have no idea what it is or when it started or will end. I can get the info on the provider or channel website but why should I have to get up, go to my computer to find that out? It's crazy that with all the hype about streaming movies on demand and other hi-tech access that they can't provide a simple guide.

Wolfman,

I haven't had a television since some time in the mid 1970s, so I'm no help to you. However, when we did have a TV, my wife used to buy a magazine named "TV Guide" that had all of the listings.

I wonder if it is still available.

Cable companys are bad at taking away channels (one at a time) including ALL their Hi-Def channels.

If you FIRE them once in a while, they will be OH-SO-Happy to give them back..
Or, as I did, switch to Direct TV for the trial period, then shop around...it is just the way it is..or else they will sucker you into purchasing the more expensive packages..

Ron.

OK, Bonan. Good tip. I checked the channel's dot com and they had a brief schedule. This site is ooook. Just got off my tractor.

I quit watching TV about a year ago when my wife bought a flat screen. You cant change channels quickly on it, and I am a channel surfer, so I gave it up. Dont miss it.

Yeah, tom, it's still available. I just Googled it and some subscription company is running a special, 52 issues for $20.00. My wife used to subscribe to it, but even they couldn't keep things straight half the time.

Thanks Fullers Farmalls. It was CUTV. I went to CUTV.com and found a listing. I have about nine red ones in s.w.Pa.

Push the "INFO" button on your TV remote or converter box remote. Many list the next upcoming shows, some out to 24 hours ahead. When all else fails I have to read the manual.

I'll second www.TitanTV.com , it lists schedules for the next 14 days. Local cable companies also provide online schedules. Every network posts their schedule online as well.
