Re: Cracked block

A dealer friend of mine traded in a N series Ford that was cracked for 2/3 the length of the block. The good thing was you could drill the weld. Veeded the weld out, pinned I,t no leaks, ground it match the block still running from 10 years ago.

If you have a replacement block I'd clean that up and check it before using a cracked welded block. Just my thoughts. Hope to see you next summer at the YT round-up.

The pistons will come out with the sleeves. They are wet sleeves held in by a bit of upper corrosion, and Big Orings. A take off the rod cap and knock them upward with a oak stick and hammer. Jim

V it out and JB weld it. Clean good
and don't use paper towel to clean,
use white tee shirt. Just use rubbing
alcohol from drug store. And air dry.
Have fun! Vic
