compression test Allis g

Compression test on my Allis G showed 85 lbs dry, 110 oiled down. Smokes fouls plugs,Great oil pressure. Opinions as what to do appreciated
Hotter plugs? Just want to drive it up & down the road now & then. thanks, Pretzer

Fill in the blanks what is the history of it. Has it sat a long time with out running?? If yes try an ATF treatment. Fill the cylinders with ATF and let it sit a few days then spin it over with the plugs out. Always put the plugs back in to keep dirt etc out. If it had sticking rings that should help free them up and help the problem

Forget about higher heat range plugs.

Install a set of no-foul adapters and you will never oil foul another plug (provided that you get it fully up to operating temperature from time to time).

It could need rings. Like the other guy said, what is the history of the machine.

I have that engine in a Massey Pony. The previous owner started to restore it and passed away. It sat a while. When I got it running it smoked and also blew a lot out the crankcase breather. When I took the head off to put new rings in, I found that it had a fresh set of rings and it had never been worked enough to seat them.

I had an IHC 258 six like the jeeps used and it burnt oil so I tried a set of the non foulers and it would not run ! I think they even caution you to not use them in all cylinders. Now I know why.

One of my AC G's did that and I put new rings in it . Not a big job but you can not get the pistons out . I just pushed the piston out of the top as far as they will go and the made a ring compressor out of some big hose clamps. I also replaced the rod bearings at the same time. It runs great now and no smoke.
