Long 2610 loader problem

Recently purchased a Long 2610 that came with a Long brand loader attachment. Very good setup and I have been pleased. However, I have noticed that when letting off of the main lift valve that the loader will drop 4-5 inches before stopping and I have attributed that to the cylinders needing repacking. What I am wondering about is that the tilt cylinders which have smaller rods (although close to the same diameter barrel) than the main lift cylinders operate at about half the speed of the main lift. Could this problem possibly be located in the valve spools? I thought about kinked metal lines but couldn't locate anything that looked like it would be restricted enough to cause what I am seeing. Any ideas, and could the drop on the mains be related?

Does the loader run off tractor hydraulics or is
it the large loader Long built with the PTO hyd.
pump?

It is the loader that runs off the PTO pump.

Have you changed hydraulic oil and filter since
it started acting up? Checked hyd. oil to see
if it has water in it? Check for air
bubbles/foam in the hyd, oil too.

I had a Farmtrac 80 that acted like that after
running and got warmed up. Had to change where
the oil dumped back in the system from power
beyond through the loader valve because of
bubbles in oil. Made the change and corrected
the problem. no more air bubbles.

I did change the hydraulic filter. Cheap and easy thing to try first and it never hurts to have a clean filter. :)

I had not thought about the return to the tank and causing air bubbles. I will check that today as well as if I can see any water in there.

(quoted from post at 12:33:37 01/28/15) Are both lift cylinders getting equal amounts of fluid.

I do not know. They are plumbed from the same two lines coming from the valve but I haven't given any thought to just one of the lines being blocked. I'm not sure how to test that other than taking the lines loose and working the valve but I'm sure that would make a huge mess.
