OT - coyotes active earlier this year?

Mangy things have really been on the move at night the last couple of weeks. The females normally come into heat in early March here but from all the yelping and carrying on at night things must be early this year. Between 1-3 a.m. seems to be their prime time but sounds more like young ones yelping in the summer when their parents bring something home to eat. Anyone else noticed more activity?

Hear them almost every night. Usually here a group of older ones first, then a few minutes later sounds like younger group. Hear them behind my shop starting about 7:30 PM. Folks have been losing calves all around us. 3 cats gone missing recently.
Bout ready to get out the electronic call and spotlight and do a little hunting. I absolutely hate coyotes.

1st of Dec they got rowdy around here for a few nights I have not herd them since... I figured they hunted the back 20 out...

I witnessed a pack go after the neighbors cats one cat stood there ground and meet his maker... Those that ran up a tree lived to talk about it... They were not interested in me payed me no mind they had chines's on there mind for supper... I was able to get to my shotgun and blister there arse....

They were raising Cain less then a half mile from the shop yesterday afternoon. Gonna have to see if they will come to a call this time.

Steped out the basement door and shot 3 of them yesterday afternoon, were in the hayfield running around.

I never see cyotes, only hear them at night. None this year. Have seen active moles already. Even seen some spring flowers popping close to house.

A pack of them killed a sheriff's posse members horse in Lapeer County Michigan at 3 pm in the afternoon on Sunday. The horse was only about 20 feet from the barn and 70 feet from the house. Obviously these things have to be eliminated from the area.

Really active around here this year. The sheriffs horse that was killed is about 20-30 miles from here but there have been several reports of packs with over a dozen members crossing fields around here. Most I have seen together was two. I have a pretty firm rule that any wild animal that let's me near it in broad daylight is potentially dangerous, carnivore or not. Take it down. There are plenty left with more sense...and fear of humans. Those are the only ones acceptable. My next door neighbor dumps 50# bags of dog food in the fence row behind her house a couple times a week all winter. Can't stop her. Coyotes yipping all night, the dogs going wild but I don't dare leave them loose. Last month one of the cats disappeared. All I can do is shoot the darn things and hang them up where she can see them. I am within my rights too.

They are getting with in here CO. Mid state. 8000' elev. They breed here in Feb. They wake us up, but we have so many other varmints we hate to shut them.
