Saw a first today

The snow went around us. Saw a county boy on a new JD with a brush hog on a boom trimming the trees and brush along the road. Definitely a first to see the boys doing summer time work in January.

I saw one today parked in the median of I 74 just as you get near the end in Cincinnati. I had thought maybe they parked it last fall and 'forgot'it!Mark

i was supprised to see the county last week {wis} mowing some small boxelder brush in the ditchside alond some property i own down the road. using a mower on a long arm mounted on the back of the tractor i think. guess what tractor was used? a new case-ih with the tracks on the back! arent those really pricy? like a reagular tractor wouldnt work? maybe the county had to spend some money before the end of the year.

Up here in west central Wisconsin we cut road brush during the winter months when time permits and if we do not have too much snow. We use a boom type mower with a flail type cutter head.

The news said that we've only gotten a total of inch of snow for the last two months, Dec and Jan. I guess the County boys needed something to do.

Don't those tracks have more ground contact that would keep them from dropping in a hole a wheel would and possibly cause a rollover? Also tracks would not get flats from everything you could find in that roadside.
