'49 A, making use of the power-trol , some old ford N-series lift arms, the power-trol lift arms from a deere 227 picker, a little chain and a few other odds and ends. Havent made a top link bracket yet, though i know how id do it, for now i just want the lift arms. A ford drawbar and V-plate keeps things from swaying. Going to use it for skidding logs from the woods to the house, hook it up, raise it and go. Sure theres kits, but i had most of the stuff i needed for this build laying around anyhow.

racsan,Yes the rigid lift links would help stop a backwards flip. The chains would cause it to keep on rearing up and flip over, before you could pull the clutch. For your SAFETY! please get rid of the chains!

His lift wont lift the front of a log so qut worrying by the time the slack is gone from the hook-up front of log will still be on the ground so it wont raise the front wheels.

The real concern in towing something on wheels. When the tractor stops and the towed item does not, it'll be up in the seat with the operator. It's just one of those things that's easy to remedy and it only takes one malfunction to send a guy to the local ER.

Ha! The chains look like the only thing that he had to buy and now you are wanting him to remove them. You are right there is nothing any worse then having something that is about to run over you and take you out of your seat.
