howdy I have never had a game camera or a need for one until now . I have some one messing around a house im taking care of. I would like to place some game cameras or some type of camera like that to see who is coming around I don't want a flashbulb going of to give off the location of the camera. are there any such an product that's not very expensive and will fill my needs?

use deer cams, covers days and nights! Properly placed, you can get good shots when it detects movement.

I have an ATV salvage yard with about 24 wireless cameras with IR illumination works great till you find out you can take a cell phone and see each camera by its illumination IRs so some have ir and some don't and Im sneaky too I have several IR
illuminaters in flood light sockets and plain old tape cameras hid way out and zoomed in

Anything with a black flash can't be seen. They are pricey.
Infrared can't be seen unless looking straight at it, then you'll
see a faint red glow. They are a little cheaper. I like bushnell
and I have one cabelas brand. They run from around $125-
$175, depending on sales. Amazon is where I've found the
cheapest.

Might be worth putting one up in a tree and angling it down.
People don't tend to look up.

Nick m,

I too suggest the tree angle down. I used barnhinges. One side screwed to the tree, the other side holding the camera.

I used a piece of all-thread to have an adjustable angle.
They are hard to spot, even in leafless winter trees.

Ronnie,

I like your thinking, anything to keep the troublemakers accountable for their actions!

Don't let them know " where your goat is tied".

I like my Bushnell that I got for Xmas. Haven't seen much game. Mostly pix of me and my dogs. It's easy to spot (if you know it's there) with the strap hanging out. I'm thinking of using loose bark on a dead tree around it to hide it a little better.

Like others said, the black flash is nice and you'll only see it if you're looking right at it. Only issue is that on the model I have, the pix won't display on the screen. You've got to remove the SD chip or plug the camera into a TV (RYW AV input cord that comes with the camera). I'm going to get a 2nd chip that I can swap back-and-forth on it.

They're addicting. I started with one I borrowed from my
brother a couple years ago. Now I have 5 of my own. I do
just like you said. I have 2 cards for each camera, then I
canswap and go. If use the good energizer lithium
battbatteries in the bushnell, they'll last over a year.

I have three Moultres. A model 8, 880, and a A5. A5 is the only one I don't like. Always having some sort of problem with it. Trips too easy, picture isn't in color. This morning I checked it and got seven pictures and then a line through it, and the rest of the pictures couldn't down load. Never have any trouble with the other two.
