Had to go pick up a tractor in Idaho and just happened by the station with the cheapest diesel around. Filled up my truck and slip tank, topped it off on the way back. 110 gallons @ $2.22. Off-road was $1.72....might have to go back with my barrels.

Eldon, I was just checking fuel prices at nearby boat docks and saw diesel was $2.159 at Des Moines Marina. Seems odd that it would be cheaper than what you've found, given that gasoline at the marina is still up at $2.799.

By the way, expect gas prices to start skyrocketing the end of February, as my boat will be back from the boatyard then and I'll be filling it up...

Can boats use off-road diesel? Just curious. Headed to Kent in the morning.

Yup, all the fuel docks around here are ethanol-free fuel. Too many old boats like mine can't tolerate ethanol, and all the rest are pretty much sitting idle in the water with high humidity for 6 months at a time and if they had ethanol it would separate out.

I dunno. I know the gasoline has road tax in it. I have to send in my fuel receipts twice a year to get a fuel tax refund. I only get the state fuel tax back, and only that part of the state fuel tax that exceeds the state sales tax.

I guess, some of the "fog" could probably drift across the border too huh?!?!

Glad we haven't accepted it yet, would be rather comical to see for a day though....
