Had a good afternoon and evening

Cold rain was forecast for Friday and they were right. 36 degrees, raining and windy. Got busy yesterday and put my "new" combine in my old shop. Then mowed down old okra patch after saving some seed and disced the trash down in preparation of planting taters in 3 to 4 weeks using my 51 VAC and Dearborn disc. Also split up a little fire wood and got it under the shed. Spending today hanging out in the shop not too far from the heater.
Life is good.

Nancy, in the fall before I start using it, I shovel them into a wheel barrow and put them in the garden. Might do it once again before spring. The door is 16 inches in diameter.

Always a good feeling to complete a few chores just ahead of the weather. Unique heater, is it a factory job or homemade? But there's no place to set a coffee pot!

Homemade from the end of a 500 gallon propane tank with a 16 inch truck rim for door frame. Burns anything that I put in the door. I do miss a cooking surface, but I have never had a cup of coffee in my 62 years. Drank enough hot tea with cream and sugar to float battle ships. Mother was from London.

AC All Crop 40. Just bought it. Going to play with it this spring in some barley and this fall in Colossus peas.

I don't know there buddy?

That is a pretty small combine, is it going to be able to handle the "Colossus" Peas....

hehehe :p

I rode about a thousand miles standing on the platform of an old AC 66. I thought that was so fun watching the wheat get cut, fall on the canvas and move on up to the cylinder.

Talk about a simpler and more laid back time.

Then when I got bigger I got to crawl inside and hold the back side of the bolt head while my dad changed the rubber coated cylinder bars.

I can't remember, I guess we laid down some cardboard and covered the walkers with that while I laid in there. Can't remember, some of those old straw walkers were wooden, dont know if ours were or not.
