Gas back up to 2.09 around Cent./Northern MI from $1.67 few days ago. Got it in last station in Harrison to stay at $1.72 and since I have a Citgo gift card (re-loadable / .10 discount) I still got it for $ 1.62 but rest of Harrison/Clare area along with Cent. Mi are $ 2.09 !

That's odd here in NY or as I call it new pork, it was $2.69 at the pilot travel center on Friday night, that's we're I have to exchange my daughter, tonight I brought her back, it was $2.61, last wedensday it was $2.71. My 99 Dakota is about 75% unroad worthy I only take it 3 miles down to the farm, so I fill cans at the truck stop to put in that truck. Could have bought a nice truck with the money this divorce is costing me, lol.

Kansas hasn't done it yet, but in past when gasoline prices dropped they would raise the state tax. Its 24 cents right now. Our last two governors have robbed millions from the state highway fund over the last few years. We were know for our good highways, but I think that's about to end.

Price goes down. everyone fills up their tanks. buys more and more gas. demand goes up. supply goes down. price goes up.

Don't worry, I think you guys were ahead of the curve to begin with on the price. We are still paying 2.39 here for gas, $3.59 for diesel. When our price gets under $2, I can guess the demand will increase and the price will rise.

Gas was $1.699 in Ft Smith Ar today. Stock market was down
over 300 points today. Reason I could find was that crude oil is
still falling.

Gas in SE IN is 1.86 gal. Retail gas generally follows benchmark US crude price which went down today (to $50/barrel) Something is amuck in Michigan if your prices don't follow Benchmark crude. Maybe you have some transport issues getting truck tankers to stations in the snow. Or collusion among some region retailers. Prices here are not rising and seems most places are not rising yet. (They will later in this year)

I bought gas today for $1.94 in N ILL. cheapest it's been here that I've seen.

This deal is driving me NUTZ (ier). Price here is $1.069 per l ($4.04 per US gal). Canada wide average is $.93 per l ($3.51). Getting pixxed enough to ask ?? of the Gov't /newspapers. Won't do a lik of good, but maybe. As before, tired of having the continuous inclined plane in my wrekkdum.

$.55 difference in price just by crossing the county line here. The strange part is, most of our gas comes in on barges (via Ohio River) The CLOSER you get to the barge terminal, the HIGHER the price. Way out in the boonies, gas is cheap.

I paid $1.78 a gallon yesterday.

One of the reasons for higher prices near large cities may be the mandate for oxygenated gasoline in many areas.

The price spike Randy is referring to has nothing to do with the cost of oxygenated gasoline, the cost of crude oil or anything else. The spike is the result of Speedway (owned by Marathon Oil) manipulating the retail markets. Once Speedway moves the other retailers blindly follow. Has been going on for years in the great lakes region. Speedway calls it "Price Cycling". Usually happens on Thursdays but not always. Could be anywhere from 15 cents to 70 cents a gallon. Our protectors in Washington refuse to do anything about it.

Mine just jumped $.20. Glad I was driving my truck with empty cans in back. I found a station at old price. Picked up 40 gallons.
