I just got a 1948 8N. The PTO shaft was removed and there is a cover over the opening. Will the 3 point lift work without the PTO shaft or does it have to be installed again? Thanks for your help

To make it simple no. PTO shaft drives the hydraulic pump on an 8N

No PTO no hyds but there was cover made that would hide the shaft but still have the shaft there

Have you tried it yet with it in gear pump can run without a pto shaft sticking out there can be a short shaft that just doesent have the pto splines sticking out
