hydrolic cessna pump removal & starter

I own a 1969 case ck530. The pump in front of the tractor under the radiator blew & fluid is everywhere. How do I remove?
Next, starter and cylinoid works when I connect them to a battery. On the tractor it just clicks, sometimes it will turn over, mostly not, wondering if gear is not lining up with fly wheel or gets hung up.

Please help if one knows.

For the pump - you just unbolt, unhook lines,
and pull off. It connects to the crankshaft-
pulley via a 7/8" splined coupler that it will
slide right out of IF not rusted stuck. I had
to pull the pump out of Case 580CK recently
that WAS rusted stuck.

Starter "clicking" usually has nothing to do
with any gear not being in mesh. The solenoid
contacts are supposed to make contact (not just
click), then a magnet gets pulled in that moves
the starter drive into place in the flywheel.
Once in the right spot, a button gets hit that
makes the starter spin. So the correct sequence
of events is #1 the solenoid gets energized and
moves the starter drive into place, and #2 the
starter then starts to spin. Usually "clicking"
happens at stage # 1 when the contacts are poor
or voltage is low.

That clicking when trying to use the starter is almost certainly a bad connection. I still remember the hardest to find for me was the frame end of a battery cable.

On the clicking solenoid, as said, check battery cable connections first- buff them up, buff up the point where ground wire is bolted to engine or frame, and try again. If still clicking, take the solenoid off the top of the starter and take it apart- if its a Delco type, there will be a big copper disc that is the contact point, and it can get corroded. Just twist it to a new position where it has new metal to contact, and that may do the trick. Its not a mechanical problem with starter gear if it works properly when jumped.

In addition to turning the disc(?) the two large post that are in the solenoid cap can also be turned a half turn to give a new contact surface for the disc Sometimes the post which connects to the main starter feed wire has one of the solenoid coil feed wires soldered directly to it so it cannot be easily turned. I just put that question mark after the first of my reply because the disc generally turns itself throughout the course of normal start cycles and I have not found it to be as critical as the terminal contact areas.

Thank You all Very Much.

I noticed when the starter was off that the small gear in front of the cylinoid is work down or off from meshing into the flywheel. should I replace that gear?
