Lake Okoboji is a popular vacation and recreation spot in northwest Iowa, including an amusement park named Arnold’s Park.
It has some beautiful old cars in it, along with recreations of storefronts and the way Arnold’s Park looked in the ‘50s and ‘60s.
The Roof Garden was a well-known dance hall, drawing people from long distances to dance to big-name rock & roll bands.

I haven't had the opportunity to see it yet. We live only 50 miles away. Marilyn's sister has and told me I would really like it. I about got kicked out of the Roof Garden for twisting at a dance back in the sixties.

I visited the amusement park a few times in the '60s' and early '70's. The wooden roller-coaster had long, non-structural 2x10s only attached on the ends so they would slap and make noise as the cars went by. More noise - more terror! The fun-house with the turning barrel to walk through, shuffling floor, wrestle for the center spot in the spinning sugar bowl, sit on a burlap bag, go down the wooden slide and crash at the bottom and outside was the best, the shooting gallery with Browning .22 short semi-autos. Endless ways to get hurt and no one cared.
