how short is your day-light today

0 hours and no minutes.....

I went into work before daylight, and won't go out until after dark...in an interior office all day. Only happens 4 days a year fortunately.

8 hours 58 minutes. Sunset is actually three minutes later than when it was setting at its earliest a few weeks ago. Sunrise has just been coming later. Funny thing is,sunrise will continue to be later every morning for the next couple of weeks while sunset will continue to be later too.

sleep-in don't know how much daylight i have left to do any thing i never get done,,,lol

At least we're tilting back towards the sun instead of the other way now. Best thing I've done in a while is buy a new (to me) 14.5 / 30" snowblower as we have virtually zero snow on the ground !! Dam' good investment so far! Went completely through it (only 4 yrs old) this summer because I hate working on something when IT should be doing the work so wouldn't mind seeing how well it works....but that could wait 'til next year.

Peoria, IL 9 hour 15 minutes sunrise to sunset. 10 hours 17 min of visible light they say. It's been so cloudy lately I know the visible light is not that long.

8 Hrs. 33 minutes by Ultra's website below. Sure seems like we should have more daylight than B & D in the frozen North.

But its daylight right now (11:30 AM), 58° outside and not raining. Wife going riding (there's a surprise!), grandson has basketball game at 2, Seahawks at 5:30, but in the meantime, going to do some outside stuff that is unpleasant when its raining.

8 hrs 12 min in Ladysmith BC on Vancouver island.

Remember Mike, the area where B&D comes from in southern Ontario is much further south than Seattle. They are more like in the Great Middle North. We on the coast are lucky with the warm weather, but lots of rain...

Merry Christmas!

9 hrs 22 min.

Another question is how many cloudy days do you have? It seems that in the winter, I have more cloudy than sunny days. Just my observation, nothing scientific.

(quoted from post at 11:25:42 12/21/14) Approx 8hr and 52 minutes of daylight today. Data via Enviroment Canada weather site so accuracy is suspect.

8 hrs 59 min of sunlight. I looked up Sastamalla
Finland. They see the sun get up at 9:32 and it sets at 2:58. Off the top of my head thats 5 hr and 20 min.

Had a neighbor here back in the day. He said "I sell snowmobiles and it doesn't snow,so I start selling lawn mowers and now it doesn't rain.".
I told him I wished he'd start selling irrigation equipment.

Same thing here. Bought a older Craftsman 28 in blower for the shop, went thru my 28 inch deere, now no snow. For the record, I am NOT complaining!!!

Oh, and 9 hours and 3 minutes of daylight. Not enough.

Sunrise 7:48 a.m., sunset 4:40 p.m., whatever that figures out to. More importantly, my area (southern Minnesota) already has gained three minutes of afternoon sunlight, which is more valuable to me than morning light. Most people think Dec. 21 means the earliest sunset, but not necessarily so. Earliest sunset for me was 4:37 p.m. going way back to Dec. 7 through Dec. 13. By Christmas we'll have gained five minutes of afternoon light, and seven minutes by Jan. 1.

Today is the winter solstice. That means for people living in the Northern Hemisphere, it's the longest night of the year before the sun begins to catch up with the clock.

5 hrs and 27 min. and we gain 6 seconds tomorrow.. Palmer, Alaska, 99645... I don't know what I'm going to do with myself with all that extra time on my hands. :D

(quoted from post at 12:14:01 12/21/14) Don't know about the downtime but the sun was a big red ball on the horizon here at 8:05 in w.c. Ohio.
So that is what that red ball is ...It has been so long I forgot what it looked like.
