Steiger engine

I am not really sure where to post this whether on here or the IH board. I am looking for the section of gearing that will drive the hydraulic pump for a 3406 engine. If I am right it goes in where the air compressor goes above the fuel injection pump on the accessory drive. I might need the hydraulic pump that goes with it if the one i have will not fit. I am doing a change out from a 3306 to a 3406 in a Stieger Cougar. The arrangement # from engine in tractor is 6N3323 Serial # 66D19957 model # 3306PC The engine I need the pump for is 3406B Serial # 7FB22917 The 3406B is out of a truck this is why I need the Hydraulic pump drive and required parts. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.

I went to the "bigtractorparts.com" website that I answered you with down on the heavy equipment forum, and saw an item listed something like "Cummins pump drive".

I don't want to steal the post but does any one know who owns the big Steiger sitting on Rt. 11 between Philadelphia and Gouvenour. Never seen it move. Big twin stack motor. Don't know why they pained them that ugly green color.

I left my laptop at work. I can look that up Monday morning. Otherwise your Cat dealer will have it.

I really don't want to rain on your project but I owned a 325 Steiger tractor bought new out of the factory with a 3406 engine in it. The engine was great. Ran as good the day I traded it off as the day I bought it. That being said, the hydraulic system was always short on both pressure and volume. Also there were several weak spots in that tractor, namely all the planetary axle hubs had to be rebuilt with heavier gears as the original ones would over heat and fail. This is a big dollar item and I wouldn't want to guess the cost in todays dollars. Next came the air-conditioning system which at it's best it was just a little better than having none at all. The other weak spot was the clutch. The setup they used was a dry clutch behind a 325 horsepower engine in a farm tractor was just not adequate for any longevity. The banded duals were also troublesome as they were close together and would load up between them if it was the least bit sticky soil condition. Just a few things to think about before you get too deep into the project.

I have the engine already from an old truck so since this had a bad engine seemed like the thing to do was just swap it out for this engine. The hydraulic is the stumbling block to the whole thing.
