For those of you who live close to Maryville
Illinois or will be visiting friends or relatives
close to this area try to make it K10 Trains at 19
Schiber Court behind Anderson Hospital in
Maryville. Be sure to watch the video on their
website. The layout is only 61 x 80 ft.
Incredible. It use to be a $1 admission per
person.
Giant Train Layout.

There is a huge O scale layout on the third floor of a warehouse in NJ somewhere, too. Thursdays at 4 pm. "I Love Toy Trains" on RFDTV. Mondays 6 pm "Trains and Locomotives" on RFDTV, hour of old films on real trains.

There is some guy in NH or Vermont, can't remember which, who bought a farm house and is doing a different layout in each room of the house.

Have a 5x8-4X9 ft. L shaped S-scale layout in my celler. Been working on the danged layout for going on three winters. Ain't got the silly thing done yet.................Still have a coal mine to finish and a factory. Of course it all started when I was 6 years old with a locomotive and 4 rail cars and a 4x6 sheet of plywood...............................

There is some SERIOUS money spent on train layouts. Not just here either. Girl who works in Wally-World is from Germany. her father is a huge train nut. She said he builds a layout, tires of it in a while, tears it apart and builds a different one. Good Gravy! It's taken me darn near 60 years to get to the thrid layout! Lol!

Got a big Lionel train set yet also but my brother
left a train wreck on the tracks with the big
transformer turned wide open which fried the
transformer. That was in about 1960, never found a
transformer big enough to run the whole setup
after that.

Fascinating.

If interested in model trains and in the Cincinnati, OH area, visit the Museum Center at the iconic Union Central Terminal (a worthwhile visit in itself) to see the wonderful O gage layout once displayed each year in the CG&E (now Duke Energy) lobby.

Theres an amazing layout in Hamburg called Miniature Wunderland, about 250 people involved in building it, watch for the tractor pull....

I've seen the layout in Chattanoga TN station, the club layout in Rochester, NY, the club layout in what was the Gowanda Psych hospital (been going since the '40's) done a virtual tour of the Wunderland layout in Hamburg Germany (and my daughter saw in in person), seen the NYPENN modular layout in WNY several times, been to operating sessions at individual modelers homes for a short span when I had fewer irons in the fire, but my tiny but complex HO home layout has languished for years due to lack of time and inclination - it seems to take too long just to figure out where I left off. I'm thinking I should just sell it all and have one less project on my wish list.

I have the Marx O gauge set my Dad bought for my Sister in 1946 thinking she was a boy. I just got it out of the box it had been in for the last 45 to 50 years and got it set up and running..... Had to get a new power cord for the transformer, and buff the rails to get contact, but it is running again.
