Was at the Bush Bean Factory today

My brother raised navy beans on contract for Bush several yers ago, then they dropped the contract price and then his yields went down when white mold showed up in the fields so he stopped raising navy beans.

Those are the only beans we eat here--was surprised at the BEAUTIFUL setting were they are made.........I took down 2 boxes of Magnets that go into buckets- elevators etc.

(quoted from post at 18:43:36 12/18/14) My brother raised navy beans on contract for Bush several yers ago, then they dropped the contract price and then his yields went down when white mold showed up in the fields so he stopped raising navy beans.

Dropped the contract price and doubled the retail price...what gives? They are the only beans we eat also...other than navy beans and ham....

Two years ago last Thanksgiving day their was a thread on this website about "What did you do today?" I took an elderly lady who had lost her dog several weeks beforehand over to see a friend of mine's Golden Retriever who had a litter of pups that he was selling. I just knew when she picked up one of those pups and it started to lick her neck that we were taking it home. Today if that dog could talk it could do the comercial on T. V. for "Bushes." It looks a lot like an Irish setter but in reality it is a cinnamon colored Golden retriever. I told my friend who owned the mother that the puppy has just hit the power ball of the dog world.

you were about 40 miles from the house then, beautiful country with winding roads, if you were sightseeing should have went on around and went through the cosby orchards and the back way into Gatlinburg, "where you can touch the sky".

Dropped the contract price and doubled the retail price...what gives? They are the only beans we eat also...other than navy beans and ham....

What gives? $4+ diesel for one thing. EPA and FDA probably made them install a bunch of equipment. Costs went up.

Roll that beautiful bean footage!

They have a nice welcome center that tells the history of Bush. You can sample several kinds of beans for a price of course. The actual cannery is across the road and closed to the public. Sorry no dog either but a nice stop.
