Anybody out there have one?
Came across a low mileage 2009 4x4 6.0l.
Are they any good or are they a nightmare waiting to happen?
 
I would like someone to make this in to a math
problem. Do cost per mile averaging over 250,000
miles; Hybrid vs regular car or truck. Include
replacing batteries.
 
From what I have read $1500-$2000 for a battery pack
Gm gives a 8 year or 80 000 warranty on them so they seem to last a fair while.
This one has been sitting a fair bit and ony has 12 000 miles on the truck.
 
When we bought a used Toyota Prious for SHMBO they
gave us a deal on an extended warranty that covered
the batteries. Doesn't sound like your at a
dealership though
 
Does anyone know, if the batteries are removed, does it drive like a regular truck? If it does, then battery replacement could be evaluated when they go bad.

I've got a 2008 tahoe hybrid which would be the same
thing. I bought it new and it has about 75,000 mi on
it now haven't done anything to it except tires and
oil changes. The wife drives it and we live in a
small town so it's alot of hiway miles not city
driving like they were designed for. I,ve been
pretty happy with mine so far.
 
WHERE IS IT LOCATED? if YOU DON'T WANT IT I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT AS a donor for my well worn 99.

I heard on the radio yesterday that the lastest study says WHEN FIGURED WITH THE PRICE OF TODAY'S GAS, the most polluting vehicle on the road is a hybrid car, when the cost of everything is figured in, including the manufacture and the eventual disposal of the battery system.
The least polluting vehicle was the diesel. Of course, I take all of these studies with a large grain of salt.
 
It will not function without the battery pack. These trucks do not have a mechanical starter, they use the electric motor to start the gas engine. No batteries means the gas engine cannot be started.
