I see that Danofarming post below is not getting a lot of looks. HE is a very proud Father with a wonderful daughter that is traveling in France right now. She has the best pictures of things in France that I have ever seen. The best part is she has them captioned so that someone not educated on French history can understand what they are really looking at.

Your right, she has posted some beautiful pictures, and the commentary/history lesson with each one makes them even better.

That said, I spent my share of time in Europe when I was in the Navy, and got the chance to see some beautiful old stuff too. I had never been able to really put it into words, but comment she makes about being able to see the past all around you while also seeing the future rushing at you too, said it all for me....

Reminds me of the two French engineering marvels the Allis Chalmers ED40 engine and the Renault.And and an ad after WWII
"10,000 French Rifles for sale never shot and only dropped once"
But on the plus side they are very much into Organic Farming.

Spent 3 years in France.Loved it.It's my favorite country in Europe and I visited many.All the sites she saw and visited,I saw.Paris is the ONLY city in the world I spent time in and would LIKE to live in!

I liked the French countryside myself. Didn't care much for Paris but then I don't care much for any city. My favorite country I've been in besides the US is Germany. I like the German people.

RICK,I made many trips into Germany.Always enjoyed myself but I liked France much better.Had many a laugh with the German people too.

Thanks Guys for the compliments, I thought you might enjoy the travel! I am thankful for a great Daughter. She loves History, will graduate with a BS in Animal Science and minor in History. She toured Baltimore, DC and Gettysburg back in the summer, that trip is there as well
