We froze solid a few weeks ago, but last weekend it warned up and we got some rain that switched to snow do the ground was thawed out again and had a nice insulating blanket on it. Had about 4 inches or so of snow on top but plowing went very well. Hoping to finish up tomorrow so I can say I'm done...

Wow, would love to see a picture of someone actually plowing in the snow.. Pretty cool sight to see I would imagine! Bryce

If I wasn't on a side hill I would be trying to finish plowing to .
Plowed one year till December 15 before it finally froze. Bryce
theres a cool video on u tube of a big case ih plowing in snow

That's a good deal when the ground thaws out enough to get all plowing done. We still have over 500 acres of corn and 50 of soybeans under that blanket of snow. North east WI.

We're in Kaukauna, so probably not to far away from you. I was pleasantly surprised just how easy it was to plow. Basically no frost at all so it was easier today than the last time I plowed when it had an inch or 2 of frost.

Would've taken pictures but was trying to get home by 2 so we could go to my wife's family for dinner.

Don, im down by oshkosh, and i finished 2 days ago with the dmi. i was scared that i wouldnt get done. at combining it was too froze to go. there was frost about 8" down and the dmi would hook under it, then couldnt hardly pull it cause it was so muddy on top. Tue with the snow it went really good

I also got out yesterday and was running my DMI 730B ripper in standing corn stalks in North Central Illinois and is went great except late it started plugging up with stalks .

hrRoss, I live just north of you (north of Lake Butte Des Mort) neighbor chisel plowed yesterday, was going very good for him. I didn't notice any frost at all. I work construction and on wed didn't hit any frost either.

We were froze up also, but had 40 and 50 temps the last few days..and a warm rain with a warm wind. So today I was able to go disc and plow under a couple of Hmong fields that I do every fall. It was such a warm fall up until the cold hit that they were harvesting late since we didn't have a killing frost. Made $500 playing with the tractor for 6 hours....
It was nice having a cab today!

Looking towards the horizon, up close is what I had plowed 2-3 weeks ago, when there was no snow and 2-3" of frost. Farther out is what I plowed yesterday and then we got another inch or so of snow overnight

Plowing the headlands, about all I had left to do in that field.

Snow going under

Just getting started in the last field.

Looked down when I shut it down, and it just rolled 5500. Probably the last time until next year that we need the 18. Hopefully before needing it again I can do a little needed work on it.

Got 2 more acres to run the big Athens bush and bog over. Pulling it with my new (to me) Farmall 300, and it's sure a workout for it. 2nd with the t/a back half the time, especially in the sand beds. Snowed here once already, but got up to about 55 here today, so not too bad. No cab or heat houser so it got chilly when the wind blew. When I finish mine I've got 10 acres to do for the neighbors, so it'll be awhile before I'm through. And it has to be plowed with my 3 bottom disk plow, so there'll be a lot of gasoline going through the carb before that jobs finished.

Happy tractoring,

Mac

I hope we can get a crop next year. It's some rented ground that this year on 20 acres we got 9 wagons of corn silage from it. We covered it heavy with manure right before it froze, and thought we were froze out of plowing. Got a second chance I guess.

My wife wasn't too happy since I told her I was done about 2 weeks ago. She was due to have our 3rd baby 2 days ago but so far nothing is going on. I figure the baby is waiting for me to be done... got a little make up work to do now at home.
