Done for the day

I spent all day yesterday helping a neighbor frame out rooms in his new shed and wire it. The walls were 16' tall.

I am too tired to work on it tonight, so here I am.

I do not do it for money, just help out friends. I ended up doing a rash of grain dryer repairs this fall. I know if I am gone my drive will get cleaned out this winter.

It was like that when Dad farmed in the 40, 50's. everyone helped each other if they needed help. Not like that anymore. All the farm land is now houses. Everybody is doing their own thing. Me included. That is why I learned to be able to work by myself.I will go help a friend now if they needed help, but they are doing their own projects, and don't seam to need help. Stan

For once I wish I could go out... been laying down for over 7 days now. Pneumonia. I never had it before, hope to never have it again. First time since I've had my driver's license that I haven't driven anything for 7 consecutive days. At least the worst is over - the fevers, cold sweats, the hallucinations, etc.

IF you ever want to know what pneumonia feels like, just have some big girl sit on your chest and stab you in the lung every time you breathe in too deep, then start violently coughing after every breath.

Other than my 4 wheeler, I haven't driven for years. Last winter I was off the place 3 times. Barber, dentist & doctor.

The first time is the worst. I had it the first time when I was a sophmore in high school. Had it about 4 times after that - that's one of the reasons that I moved to AZ and stay out of the cold.

I'm pretty much in for the winter, for the first time ever. I had a total shoulder replacement a week ago, no lifting tugging etc. for 6 more weeks, then physical therapy starts. It's gonna be a lo-o-o-ng winter. No wood cutting. No Snow plowing.
