international 884 steering problem

I've got a International 884. My teenage grandson hit a groundhog hole, and now when you turn it the front tires just want to slide. I've replaced bearings, and examined the spendle (it looked okay). What else could it be?

Definitely a differential problem. Try backing up and hitting one of the turning brakes. It is not anything to do with the front steering.

Sounds like the diff lock is stuck on, check the pedal (right side floor near the trans tunnel.

As mentioned, driving while stamping the brakes may release.

I need diff lock one time to get out of a muddy yard, then had to turn 90 degrees on the pavement, I didn't get the lock released and both front tires buckled sideways trying to skid on the pavement, needless to say tractor didn't turn....
