Rear tactor tire repair?

My rear tires are in good shape but the top 1/2 of some of the lugs is ripping away (tire chains?).

I have the chunk of tire but would like to glue it back on. Is there an approved glue for this? I have some 3M epoxy that I will try if not. What dues everyone think?

I think the main thing is how old and dried / flexible the rubber is. If you can get it cleaned out to where it is nice black rubber you might have better success. Years ago dad had new rear tires on a tractor and there was a decent size cut in one of the bars. Being it was a fresh cut I cleaned it out with a small wire brush and used super glue. It is still holding and that was about 30 years ago, of course Im sure the glue years ago was better than today.

I doubt any glue would hold a tread on with the stress and flexing. If the tires are newer, I would check for other with same issue, if older then just live with it or replace.

I have a tractor with laminating lugs - has to be tire chains. You won't get that to stick back on there. First time it claws to get through some mud or snow you will leave that present behind.

They are probably 40 year old Goodyear's I personally would buy them again it's not the tire.

They have tread gouges and cut and now chunks out of them from the years of service. It's just getting closer to time to replace.

If your tractor finds a mudhole, and there is "buried treasure" in the mud, you will probably end up with cuts and gouges in the tire lugs.

I was going to ask what tire you had but I read farther and see you have Goodyears !
Before I asked or read I'd of bet Goodyears as I have seen many over the years peel apart. A friend who worked at a tire shop years ago had seen this all too often too as they quit selling them.
