Was looking at Cl ads and saw a Minneapolis Molène crawler loader. I didn't know MM sold crawlers! I'm not an MM guy but kinda cool at least to me!

If I remember correctly there were two different ones, a 2 Star crawler which is the rare one I believe, and then the MoTrac crawler, which was a later one. I think I saw the same ad.

Alan, you're right, the 2-Star was made only in 1958; and the Motrac - both Gasoline and Diesel versions were made in 1960-1961.

A guy from near San Diego brought a MM crawler/loader to the tractor show in Apache Junction about 4-5 years ago. It's the only one that I've seen up close. He said that he had another MM crawler that he had bought as surplus from the Navy in San Diego.

Moline made backhoes and a few other things but never really broke into the construction world.

I've seen a few 2 stars, stamms have a couple of the 2 stars I
know weren't many made, I know they made a proto type 445
crawler that was suppose to be destroyed but a guy has it was
dropped off a train i believe and rear axle housing is all welded
up was a video on youtube of it.

I knew they made a backhoe. Just never knew they made a crawler. Thought it was interesting.

MM made 52-2 Star crawlers,38 gas Motracs and 161 diesels. There is a few survivors. Think there is 6 -2 Stars and 30 Motracs that I know of.Motracs used a torque convertor for shuttle shifting same as BIG MO 600 the industrial backhoe of same year. The little crawler uses a 206 motor same as Jetstar and 445 series delivering 42 hp.It weghs 5 ton without attachments.Attached is picture of my Motrac restored minus paint.

molinegb: Very nice. I've always loved crawlers! Lou and his son restored an OC a couple of years ago and posted many great pictures of the process.
