Pto Gearbox

Hi all, I've got a little project in the works where I'm making a front mount for our snowblower.

I think I've got everything figured out but I'm having trouble finding a gearbox to reverse the direction of the pto. From rear facing, (out of the back of the tractor) to front facing, (under the belly of the tractor.)

Does anyone have any idea where I could find such a thing? google didn't provide me any answers. I'm just north of Toronto Ontario by the way.

Local blacksmith does those by running a drive chain across to an idler, then driving the blower with a sprocket in between the driver and the idler.

As JMS stated, I have seen a few of those homemade setups for sale on tractorhouse and others.

The few I have seen are using chains and sprockets to a shaft that runs the length of the tractor. You definitely need a carrier bearing in the center to minimize flex in the shaft and to support it over that length.

Eldon's gear box setup is far superior to some rattling chain idler contraption. Shields to prevent wrapping anything or anybody around the shafts is a prudent consideration.

Kind of eliminates the possibility of using a rear mounted blade though.
