For the Deer Hunters

Eric, My Dad short a 6 pt Horned Doe back in 1970 or so here in South Central Texas, Dad brought it to the House, Called the Game Warden, He stopped by in an hour or so, Dad showed him the deer and asked him what he thought....The G.W. allowed it was a decent 6pt buck, Dad them said lift up one hind leg and then tell me what you think, sure enough the G.W. Lifter the rear hind leg..... No Testicles.....G.W. said that is something you do not see every day a Horned Doe! OBTW you will have to put a Antlered Deer (Buck) tag on it too!
The G.W., Dad, & I had a good visit he went on and we dressed out the Deer!
Dad said it was sure enough in the middle of Rut, and this "buck" was not acting like a Buck, not chasing Does or anything as One would think!
They are out there....... pretty rare!
Anyway thought I would share!
Later,
John A.

There are usually a few horned does taken every year. Does anyone know if a horned doe can reproduce or are they sterile?

An antlered doe was taken here in Knox County, Ohio this fall. The antlers were still in the velvet. Taken with a bow.
