I graduated from high school in 1965. One of my favorite things was to go help a friend on his folk's farm. We shoveled ear corn and helped clean the gutters. I still like the smell of a working barn. The liquified waste they spread now, not so much.

I saw the other group of photos, thanks for sharing those and these as well, its really cool to look back, brings back memories as a kid around here !

Lots of memories with those pictures as I was getting started farming about then. But with older tractors. Hope you have more to post. clint
 
Grandad said they had a 610 (on the right) and
his brother had a 510 (in the middle). Or it
was they had the 510 and brother had a 410 (?).
Haha, I don't know Massey numbers. He told me
this afternoon and I already forgot, sorry. He
said they had a 13' grain head for it. The IH
combine was a neighbor they farmed with.
 
Nice pictures! I like the one with the cows, milking in a barn is more laid back than a parlor. Kinda miss that but is easier in the parlor. Thanks for sharing
 
I even know where most of them pictures were taken from the back grounds. It was sort of sad when they bulldozed that dairy barn and silo on Bakersville Rd.I know it had not been used for years and was of no use to their farming operation. I wonder how many stalls it had? My guess would be 70-80.I always liked a dairy barn.Tom
 
must have been a "modern" barn with that kind of ceiling headroom haha

A guy here still milks (20ish head) in an old bank barn that hardly has more than 6ft head room in the stanchions.
