12 Volt Ford 8N Chart

Hi all, I am looking for a wiring chart for a Ford 8N. I googled and found a few, but was wondering if there was a really good one that someone would suggest?

This one has the alternator with the little plastic, two wire plug on top, 12 volt battery.

Also, how do you correctly wire in the push button starter? This one wasn't being used when we got the tractor, and it clearly has the "Easy Slide On" fitting on it for ONE wire, but where does the other one go?!!? : Thanks! Bryce

Google wiring diagrams by JMOR. He's a guru over on the N board.

Great wiring diagrams for 6 and 12 volt. Front and side distributor. All N models

The other end of the wire for push button start goes to the small stud on the solenoid. That saying you have the correct 3 terminal solenoid. Small stud goes in toward the block.

Yup, just like the guys said. JMOR's diagrams are wonderful.
Google "wiring diagrams by JMOR".

8N solenoid mounts on the starter and the small terminal
points in as JC said. That's because power comes from the
battery terminal of the solenoid and the thumb button supplies
ground to complete the circuit.

If you have a different solenoid you will need to make sure the
activating coil is hooked between the battery terminal and the
small terminal for it to work.

If the activating coil is connected between the small terminal
and the mount (ground) like on a car/truck 3 wire solenoid, it
will not work with the thumb button. Wrong solenoid for the
tractor, but many are put on to use with a key switch.
