Hi Everyone.
I have been meaning to post for a couple of weeks now but been busy catching up with the chores that built up while visiting you guys.
We made it to the US and Canada for six weeks this year due to my wife finishing work, it was rather a special trip.
We flew into Denver where we began a big road trip. We travelled through Arches then Canyon National parks, they were both just outstanding. Bonneville Salt Flats was our next stop to see those guys trying to hit their high speed runs, very inspiring.I talked with several men in their 70's and early 80's trying and being successful in their speed attempts and of course full of life. We revisited Yellowstone and Glasier National Park, we took a little more time to see different parts this time, again absolutely fantastic.
As we moved further north into Canada the temperature began to drop and by the time we reached Banff and Jasper we were experiencing snow but of course it did add to the interest. My great grandfather spent a couple of years working on the Bow river during the early 1900's before returning to Scotland.
We continued our travels east through Saskatchewin and south east through Manitoba spending time visiting various Musiums and wrecker yards on the way. We spent a few days near Gladstone with friends where we got to visit various local people all of whom were very welcoming. North Dakota and a visit to Pete's Salvage Yard got me a few much needed spare parts for my tractors back home.
Three days travelling east got us back to near Toronto again visiting friends and an opportunity to have a go at driving one of your semi trucks. The combination of a 53 feet trailor, wheel and controls all at the wrong side made it interesting but the big challenge was the crash gearbox but a great experience none the less.
South to Niagara and a couple of days to relax from driving was good but the prices there are expensive compared to other areas we visited.
The hire car was returned to Baltimore having covered 6472 miles in six weeks, about a third of our years driving back home.
Anyway what I wanted to say was thank you all for having two fantastic coutries both of which we just love, hense the reason we come back year after year. I would also like to say how friendly, helpful and polite everyone was during our trip. You have much to be proud of.
Thank you.
Bill

We're glad that you had a good holiday! We've been to Canada (from Florida) five or six times and love it, especially the prairies (my opinions, not my wife's).
