Gas prices are falling

. Market forces that produced $4,gal. Can do it again.
Any turmoil in Mideast will produce jitters an cause price to be raised for oil companies "protection". Terrorism, political crisis, social unrest, military surprises etc.and etc. Are all that's needed. Some big.name economist will discover an error in some report, refinery will have an accidental fire, or Teamsters somewhere threaten to strike and prides will be raised.
Around here gasoline is under $3.,gal, but Diesel is almost
$4./gal. If crude oil is down, why is diesel same or higher?

.

E 10 gas was $2.46.9 yesterday in Oklahoma City. Reg. gas was$ 2.68.9 at the same station.
An hours drive from OK City , gas was $ 2,99,9 today, Ouch. clint

I've seen it around me down in the $3.27 range, with diesel running at $3.44.

What you never see anybody mention about the prices going up in the beginning is that until Katrina hit, prices were much lower. The prices went up following the storm, and pretty much stayed there, As a result of the storm, and price gouging, fuel prices went through the roof.....and folks still paid for it.....So, why not keep charging what the public will pay and make the most profits you can.......When your questioned, use the old 'supply and demand' argument that lets you blame everything on a storm, plant breakdown, global supply, and/or a host of other possible causes, instead of calling it what it is, corporate greed.......

At one station yesterday price was 3.03.9, today was 3.05.9 Four other stations I go past each day price dropped from yesterday to today. North of Syracuse NY area.

It wasn't that long ago we thought three dollar gas was expensive.

Right now, the Saudis are dumping a lot of crude on the US market, presumably to put a damper on the our domestic oil exploration. Good news for consumers, not so good news if your employment is related to the US oil industry.

Are you implying that somehow an election influences fuel prices??? Sorry if I cannot see the connection. Also cannot see how fuel price can influence an election .

(quoted from post at 09:18:23 11/13/14) Yeah but we have turmoil in the middle east, yet prices still fall.

For the little bit of oil the U.S. imports from the Middle East the difference could be made up by closing all drive through service. A little more domestic production and more Argntina and Canadian imports.
It's Europe, China and India that are concerned about Middle East production.

Can it be POLITICAL???
Here is part of an article I read recently:

Saudi Arabia plans to sell oil cheap for political reasons, one analyst says.

To pressure Iran to limit its nuclear program, and to change Russia's position on Syria, Riyadh will sell oil below the average spot price at $50 to $60 per barrel in the Asian markets and North America, says Rashid Abanmy, President of the Riyadh-based Saudi Arabia Oil Policies and Strategic Expectations Center. The marked decrease in the price of oil in the last three months, to $92 from $115 per barrel, was caused by Saudi Arabia, according to Abanmy.

With oil demand declining, the ostensible reason for the price drop is to attract new clients, Abanmy said, [b:e5ccbad587]but the real reason is political. Saudi Arabia wants to get Iran to limit its nuclear energy expansion, and to make Russia change its position of support for the Assad Regime in Syria. Both countries depend heavily on petroleum exports for revenue, and a lower oil price means less money coming in, Abanmy pointed out. The Gulf states will be less affected by the price drop, he added.[/b:e5ccbad587]

cant buy #1 diesel fuel here in Winterset Iowa, state of Iowa has shut down the #1 pumps at the private owned gas station and the Family center. price of gas is 2.84 here this morning.

Its still a world market and a world commodity. US Soybeans jump in price when Brazil has a bad crop and we don't import them either.

This morning I saw gas at $2.91-2.99 and kerosene at $4.59 a gallon.

I thought kerosene used to be the next thing to a waste oil product.

Slipped into Nashville today and found it $2.49 9 at one place. Never thought it would go that low.
