Alright, alright, here are a few pictures of the beast... I am heading up the meadow to look for a new toy to work on in the shop today, and it is 9 outside....

WHILE up the meadow, I will get a few pictures of the Massey Harris 101 Sr.

Those were wonderful trucks ! I was just starting out as a mechanic in '68 and the co. I hired on with had 6 of them . Does it have the 330 HD V8 in it ? That was the most common . Or the 300 six cyl? Another really good engine . You mentioned that it was 6 volt, , no way, Ford went 12 volt across the board circa 1955. The battery is kinda hard to get to under the floorboards ,keep it washed off to keep corrosion from building up on it . Get it fixed up, they are a strong truck , easy to get parts for.

Bryce, 61's-66's, all time favorite of mine, though I like most trucks anyway, don't care what brand LOL !

Relatively easy to work on, not sure if that one has the single reservoir master cylinder, my only concern with these, well that and the old wheels I took those off, went up to 10:00- 20's, cost me too, still have the old ones, kind of afraid to even go near them LOL Mine is a '64, and it has the 292, great running little V-8. I just saw a '62 locally, with a NAPCO front axle conversion, solid truck, really would have liked to gone for it, was $3500. That's cool you have one of these, around here most are gone, you just don't see these and earlier very often, love old trucks like these !

The battery is right in front of the passenger side, mounted to the firewall, under the hood, looks factory? Maybe not though!!

This one has a Blue straight 6. Seems to have plenty of power for what I was doing with it... It will go just about anywhere, but not very fast!

I think that it would be a very nice truck if it were to be fixed up, but the previous owns have just beat this thing, very, very badly!!

That is they main reason as to why I am working on trading it for that 56 Chevy I posted about a few days ago. I think that overall the Chevy is in much better shape, and I don't think that it will take very much to get it running.

And to add to things, this is the first Ford that we as a family have ever owned, and both parents want it gone!! (didn't really go over all that well that I bought it the day after they left for vacation...) I really want to trade it for that Chevy... :)

Yep, ended up putting a different fuel pump on it, and it has temporarily fixed the problem, but I think that:

It need the fuel tank and lines cleaned

It needs the carb rebuilt

and a lot of other small things to make it a good running, reliable machine!

I guess the older models were different . We had the same vintage pickups , and the battery was mounted as you described ...

We had a 1965 ? F350 with a dump bed owned it in the early 1980's ? Was a good truck but really hurt my back driving it as the cab floors are flat and the seats sit low your legs are up to high when you work the clutch and brakes.
I remember that the drum brakes all the way around really did work GOOD ! A lot better then the brakes on the 1981 F350 that replaced it.

Hi Bryce Truck looks interesting, Maybe on the last load bring half a load then clean the dirt out the cab for the other half L.O.L.

I kinda thought this might be the pictures of the new tractor you hauled home. Whats wrong there is it camera shy?.
Regards Robert

I'm working on it, I promise!! I WAS going to go get some, but then mom declared that she was going to town, so I should ride out with her, and drive the back hoe home (from where I was getting dirt with the Ford truck)

Okayyyyy, it is 11 outside now... Just roaded it home, 4 miles, totally freezing... I mean really freakin cold!!

Hi no problem Will look forward to the pictures when you can. guys round us use full faced bike or snowmobile helmets, in the winter. If they have to road stuff without cabs on days, when it's minus what ever 0c or with bad wind chill.
Maybe that would keep you a bit warmer if you had one ;).
Regards Robert

Enjoy your pics and adventures.

That truck has a bit of an adventurous front of the box there, not sure what someone tried to accomplish..... It should be ratd for about 23,xxx lbs gross on the door post, right?

I bought my Ford 5200 open station at an auction 65 miles from home, during bean harvest.

Drove there the following day, hopped on, and headed home with it. Was a typical fall 50 degree day, I was dressed for it.

But you can't really plan for a 25mph constant wind from the south. And I was driving south.

That is about the coldest I have ever been, just minute by minute it bled the heat away from me, mile after mile......

Nothing wrong with a split -ring- wheel. Both your and his truck are hard to see, but look to be the useable types?

Nice looking 63 in bad need of some hood hinges. Has 223 or optional 262 engine. Battery should be under floor on passenger side. Been moved sometime.
