Chattanooga Reversable Plow photos

This is the plow that I got a few weeks ago.
Patent search shows 1906. This one has Patent Pending on it, so must be earlier, The disc and the seat rotate at the end of the field to go back and throw the soil the same direction all the time. Does anyone know what fits in the bracket on the tongue. Maybe an oil can or a wrench or both.
This was given to me as the owners selling the property did not want it to go to scrap.

I like that. I thought what you had was a two way walking moldboard plow like mine.

It is the largest of the 4 sizes made. Mine has a 24 inch disc. The one in the photo looks the same.

I've never seen one of those before - - but I'm pretty sure that isn't an OSHA approved seating arrangement. Fella could sure get hurt falling off of that machine if the teams decided to have a runaway.

The most common strategy was to jump off the implement and let the horses run themselves out and hope they didn't destroy the machine in the process.

If I were to ride that thing all day behind 4 mules, I would need a cooler holder.

im not gonna swear to it but, doesn't "Patent Pending" mean that there is a patent in force and not that they were still waiting for it to be issued?

Pretty sure it was made on or after that patent date.

Nope, it means it has been applied for, but not issued yet.

I have the exact plow setting here and every part works on it. Cleaned an painted looks like new but have not been able to determine the correct factory color.

I know of one,it is really fascinating I would like to watch a team of horses pull one.If anyone has the book 150 Years Of International Harvester you will find a picture of one in there.Chatanooga Plow Co was bought out by Harvester in the 20s or 30s.Ron
