Another farm accident

Link worked for me and it is a shame but who in the heck walks up behind a combine? Or any other equipment for that matter without a clear invitation of the operator to approach.

(quoted from post at 14:29:57 10/30/14) Another person dead for no good reason.

It doesn't matter if you farm or not, tractors and other equipment are dangerous. Please be careful!

Rick

I have always done it this way , it's a free country and I'll do what ever I want as it doesn't concern anybody else. I'm in a hurry, it costs too much and it works just fine. Never had a problem before doing that. I was raised on a farm, I know what I'm doing unlike those city people.

An elderly woman made the news last night. She got
killed when she hit a Big Green combine in Ill,
route 1.

People need to slow down and give the farmer's a
brake this time of the year.

Link worked for me also. Small unattended kids around equipment is unforgivable, a man that age should of known better.

hen your number pops up it's a done deaI no matter where you are or what yer doing.

So when you have to get from point "A" to point "B" you just take the shortest route and a few dozen rutting bison won't make you take the long way around?

One of guys at the coffee tells of his dad, grandpa, and oldest brother (5 years old) were out burning off the cornstalks back in the 20s. The 5 year old got caught in the flames and was on fire. Must of not been to bad as stayed in the field. They made sure he was safe but he ran out in the fire and really got burnt and latter died.

So I suppose there is no use looking before we cross the road and we may as well just drive across railway tracks without looking first. Doesn't matter as we have no influence in our destiny.

Excellent point!

did not say i was suicidaI.

One can be as carefuI as one wants, when the grim reaper has you singIed out you're done for.

Case in point, Iast week a towtruck driver was in the process of hooking his winch cabIe to a 1/2 ton truck on a deserted hard top country road near me when some idiot in a car sIammed in the back of the truck being Ioaded, kiIIing both himseIf and the truck driver. He had pushed the dead truck into the rear of the tow truck,...the driver was in between.
The tow truck had aII Iights fIashing and fIares aIong the road as weII,..it was fuII dayIight.

hat wouId be pIaying russian rouIette.
OnIy an idiot wouId do that.

All the news reports are saying the combine operator pulled out in front of the pickup, not the pickup driver's fault. Somebody needed to slow down, and STOP, and then go when the road was clear.

The combine owner better have very good insurance.

I would counter that by saying tractors and equipment are not dangerous but people are careless and stupid, sometimes fatally so.

What's with the "I"?
had to use something to fiII in for the dead key(with the bIue 3 on it) on my keyboard.
