There has been more songs wrote with John Deere in them than any other brand.
Its easy to make it rhyme. How can you get a rhyme oot of the word Minneapolis Moline or Cockshutt,or any of the others?
On the same subject there are more songs wrote aboot Mack, and Jimmy trucks than the others.
Du you'all have any constructive thoughts on subject?

The FCC might frown upon cockshutt being used in a song. Some stations would probably bleep that part out every time the word was said.

Re: cars in songs, By my informal poll of songs I have heard over the years, there are more songs about Cadillacs than any other kind of car. Hank Williams sings about a hot rod Ford, the Beach Boys about a Little Deuce Coupe (Ford),409 (Chevy) and a Super Stock Dodge, Harry Chapin about a Dodge, Chuck Berry about a flathead Ford (and a Cadillac) Bob Seger about a '60 Chevy, Janice Joplin about a Mercedes-Benz, Commander Cody (and a few others) about a hot rod Lincoln, and The B-52's about a Chrysler, but I still believe that Cadillacs are in mnore different songs.

John Deere is simple. Two syllables. Easy to fit into lyrics. Rolls off the tongue. That's why it works.

It doesn't hurt that everyone can relate to it either. Everybody has heard of John Deere, even if they've never seen a tractor in their lives. Even if you're not a John Deere fan, you know what it is.

None of the other brands have that, even the ones with names short enough to fit into songs.

Some names are just too long to work in lyrics. That "International Harvester" song for example, just doesn't work if you listen to it. The only reason it was successful is because the IH fanboys swooned over the fact that someone put the name in a song. Didn't matter that the song was awful.

Amick I don't care for country music but had to listen to it and heard the song enough times that I would change the part about doing hay or baling hay to "tractor needs another TA", some guys really didn't like me. Haven't had to listen to it for a few years now since the veterans retired and I have control of the radio now. Makes me chuckle. chris

I bet nobody has heard this John Deere song before. I put this old vhs tape together onto youtube and thought the song made a good background to the activity onscreen.
