Rednecks and their trucks

I wish I could take credit for this, but it comes from Collin Raye's website in talking about what's become of country music. Since we've talked about overpriced pickups and who buys and drives them,I thought this was right on the money.

"There appears to be not even the slightest attempt to “say” anything other than to repeat the tired, overused mantra of redneck party boy in his truck, partying in said truck, hoping to get lucky in the cab of said truck, and his greatest possible achievement in life is to continue to be physically and emotionally attached to the aforementioned truck as all things in life should and must take place in his, you guessed it…truck".

you would think somebody could have at least written a song about an Oliver,, preferably the super 88 ,(one of the best tractors in its day)

Reeson thay don't write songs aboot Olivers is nothing rhymes with it.
Now you take the old polka song aboot the John Deere and it all rhymes.

Emotionally attached? Like keeping it for 20+ years before
buying a new one and then keeping it anyway? Just checking. LOL
Hope things are going well up your way! :)

Yea today it's the everything black fad. Few years ago it was the jack up fad. One fad after another. Problem is these guys think they are invincible and own the road. Wrong mindset especially in heavy traffic.

He had a kinda thinking man's country music thing going. The present stuff is all Taylor Swift and a bunch of interchangeable singers. Apparently smart doesn't sell in country music. Or any other music either.

It just don't get no better than"she thinks my tractor's s**y"Then add in Gretchen Wilson mudding around and showing up for the party.Makes me wish I'z 40 years younger!!!!!!!!!!!

Specking of country music, if you want to hear real country music, go to you tube type in Amber Digby. Best I have heard in many years.

Colin raye of all people, complaining about the sad state of "country" music. In my opinion he was doing more to put holes in the boat rather than bail it out. Although most his songs had substance and meaning to some degree (unlike today's garbage), I would hardly say he was an ambassador for traditional country music.

I think his Grandma, Grandpa and the hereafter was a classic. Brings tears to my eyes every time I play it.

Pretty sad when the man who fronted Hootie and the Blowfish in the 90's is more country than 90%+ of the current country acts.

Turned the radio over to a country station and double checked it was the right station. THen asked the boss if they changed formats. Thought I tuned into a BET feed. Nope, turns out it was just Jason Aldean.

Taylor Swift's dad supposedly is a big-time financial guy, he wanted to start a record label, so he asked her if she'd like a record deal.

That girl needs to eat something.

Well we are lucky. Taylor Swift's newest album is marketed as a pop album just like he rest of her a lbs should have been. Give me waylon or any of the 3 hanks and the rest of the old stuff for country
