The last load goes to town in the morning. This is a good year to have a high level of crop insurance here in my part of northern Iowa. The actual acres harvested yielded about 150 where normal is 185. If I figure in the drown out the yield goes down to about 135. Test weight was from 55.5 to 59.6. Moisture was from 18.2 down to 14.5.
I question the accuracy of the moisture tester at the feed mill I hauled some of the corn to. Two of us were hauling from the same field with the same hybrid and the trucks were loaded with a grain cart. All of my moisture samples were a few tenths below 15 percent and the samples from the other truck were all a few tenths above 15 percent. We were probed by the same probe. I don't think the corn I hauled was that dry, but it was in my favor so I'm not complaining about it. Jim
