fordson didn't sell a 2000
they did however make a ford 2000 made by fordson
sold in north america as a ford 2000
the fordson model was called a super dexta
according to tractor data dot com they didn't make
either in gas just 3cyl 2.5 desiel
side note fordson was a ford company based in eng
and was shut down in 64-65 and became just ford
they are great little tractors and parts are out
there

The problem is that Ford sold three entirely different machines in the US market as the "2000".

In the late 1950s, the Dexta was imported from England (Fordson) and sold as the Ford 2000 Diesel.

From 1962-1965, there was the US-built Ford 2000 which was a continuation of the 600/601 series. That had the 144ci diesel or 134ci gas (4-cylinder).

From 1965-1975 there was the three-cylinder Ford 2000 which had nothing to do with either of the previous two.

That's backwards. It's a Ford of England (Fordson) design, and Perkins helped build them under contract. When Ford was done with that engine, the rights to it were sold to Perkins. Check the block on a Dexta/Super Dexta. It will have EnFo cast into it.

I currently own a 1963 Ford 2000 diesel with a 4 cyl engine. I
could go and check the stampings but everything looks like it does
in the Ford service manuals for the things. Presume it's all
American made. I had a Perkins 3 cyl diesel in a '64 (as I recall) MF
35.
